Just when we thought that the refurbished iphone couldn't get any lower AT&T puts the latest 3G refurbished iphone at just $49. There is much speculation that the refurbished iphone will be available free by the time we get to the holiday season!!! ofcourse there is still no getting out of the dreaded contracts. So when are you getting aboard?

Apple to Release New iphone in June

Apple (AAPL) will likely announce a new iPhone at its Worldwide Developers Conference on or around June 8. The new phone will probably be faster and more powerful than the current iPhone -- think video, better camera, faster Internet, etc. -- around the current price. (It's possible the current iPhone will also get cheaper -- perhaps $99.) New iPhones might not be available for purchase until July. But it's worth waiting at least until Apple shows off what they're going to offer this year. The iPhone will still probably be an AT&T (T) exclusive this year.

Of course there is the for a 2-year contract to live with, which costs $70 per month at a bare minimum. Going the refurb route saves 50 bucks.So is it really worth it?
